TIME, in collaboration with Statista, a leading international provider of market and consumer data and rankings, has released its annual list. The outcome of this quantitative study is 500 companies that are influencing the Asia – Pacific region’s position in global business. Here’s how the winning companies were chosen.

Methodology

The “” ranking is a comprehensive analysis designed to identify the top – performing companies in the Asia – Pacific region. This ranking focuses on three key aspects: Employee Satisfaction, Financial Performance, and Sustainability Transparency (ESG).

The first aspect, Employee Satisfaction, was evaluated using 2024 survey data from employees around the world, with a primary focus on the Asia – Pacific region. The surveys were carried out across the Asia – Pacific region, and data was gathered from over 50,000 participants. The evaluation involved assessing companies based on direct and indirect recommendations.

The second aspect, Financial Performance, was measured using data from Statista’s financial database and targeted research. Companies had to meet specific criteria to be considered for the evaluation, such as generating a revenue of at least US $100 million in 2024. They also needed to either show positive revenue growth from 2022 to 2024 or make a profit in 2024. Both relative and absolute growth were taken into account in the evaluation.

The third aspect, Sustainability Transparency, was evaluated based on ESG data among standardized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from Statista’s ESG Database and targeted data research. To create a comprehensive ESG index, multiple KPIs were collected. For the environmental evaluation, this included the 2023 carbon emissions intensity and reduction rate compared to 2021, as well as the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) score. The social aspect assessed the proportion of women on the board of directors and the existence of a human rights policy. The governance aspect evaluated whether a company had a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report that adhered to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and a compliance or anti – corruption guideline.

Once the data was collected and evaluated, it was combined and weighted within a scoring model. The scores of all three aspects were added on an equal percentage basis to form the final ranking score, with a maximum of 100 points. The 500 companies with the highest scores were recognized as the by TIME and Statista.
