President Trump Returns To D.C. After Spending Thanksgiving Weekend In Florida

Amid concerns regarding the 79-year-old President Donald Trump’s health, the White House has disclosed information concerning his recent MRI, stating the scan was “preventive” and yielded “perfectly normal” results.

In a Monday memo, Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s White House physician, indicated that the MRI was conducted due to the advantages for men in the President’s “age group” in undergoing a comprehensive assessment of their cardiovascular and abdominal health.

Barbabella explained, “The aim of this imaging is preventive: to detect potential problems early, verify general health, and guarantee his sustained long-term vitality and function.” He further noted that both Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal imaging results were deemed “perfectly normal.”

“No indications of arterial narrowing impeding blood flow or irregularities in the heart or principal vessels were found. The heart chambers are of normal dimensions, the vessel walls present as smooth and robust, and there are no signs of inflammation or coagulation. In summary, his cardiovascular system exhibits superb health,” Barbabella stated. “All significant organs appear exceedingly healthy and adequately supplied with blood. Every element assessed operates within normal parameters, free from any acute or chronic issues.”

In October, while on Air Force One, Trump informed reporters he had an MRI during his annual check-up at Walter Reed Medical Center, but did not disclose further specifics regarding the scanned body part or the test’s rationale. Both the timing of the “annual” examination—occurring merely six months following the President’s previous known medical screening in April—and the MRI announcement intensified persistent inquiries into Trump’s health status.

The President and members of his Administration have consistently asserted his excellent health. However, he has confronted increasing scrutiny on this matter for several months. Despite numerous demands from voters and politicians to release his medical records during his campaigns, Trump consistently declined, a choice that generated controversy during his 2024 campaign last year.

Earlier this year, inquiries arose concerning noticeable swelling in the President’s ankles and contusions on his hands. During the summer, the White House disclosed Trump’s diagnosis of , a non-fatal ailment where leg veins struggle to return blood to the heart. This condition can result in serious complications if neglected, though Barbabella indicated then that the President displayed no evidence of problems such as deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.

For weeks, Trump and the White House withheld additional information about the President’s MRI after his initial comments to the press. On Sunday, Trump informed reporters on Air Force One that he would make the scan’s results public “if you want to have it released,” yet once more omitted specifying the body part that was screened.

He stated, “It was simply an MRI.” He added, “Which part of the body? It wasn’t the brain because I successfully completed a cognitive test.”

The following day, during a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt presented excerpts from Barbabella’s memo.

She remarked, “I believe that offers considerable detail in the interest of transparency.” She concluded, “The President committed to it last night, and we have delivered it today.”
