San Enrique mayoralty bet files electoral protest

SAN Enrique Mayor Jilson Tubillara on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, confirmed that his camp has already received a copy of the electoral protest filed by his opponent, Leo Delfinado.Tubillara had 8,182 votes while Delfinado only had 8,172 or a slim margin of 10, records from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed.The copy of the election protest was already forwarded by Tubillara to his lawyer Marvin Tañada.“This is a democracy,” the mayor said in reaction to the election protest, adding that he respects the rights of Delfinado.However, Tubillara said he believes that he will still win the protest as the vote counting machine (VCM) is 99.9 percent accurate.In a post on Facebook by Youth of Leo and Carlo, it showed that ballot boxes from San Enrique had already been moved to the compound of the Regional Trial Court in Bago City where the protest was filed.
